Our Mission
With LAUSD schools returning to remote learning for the 2020 Fall semester, those without a computer at home are severely disadvantaged. Access to technology remains a great barrier to a large and underserved group of students in Los Angeles.
Founded on the belief that every student deserves equal access to education and opportunity, Screens 4 Students connects local students in need with computers and tablets. The organization takes technology that would otherwise be sent to the landfill or shelved and instead refurbishes it to give a student in need. Screens 4 Students is transforming e-waste into the tools necessary for students to continue their education during the COVID-19 crisis.

WHERE DO I DONATE DEVICES?
Screens 4 Students will happily pick up your devices. Or you can drop them off to us. Please contact us for more information.
WHAT TYPES OF GADGETS, COMPUTERS, AND ELECTRONICS CAN I DONATE?
We accept all working technology useful to online learning. We need laptops, desktops, and tablets, Mac or PC. If it turns on, we'll take it. Please include any power cords if possible.
WILL MY PERSONAL INFORMATION BE SAFE DURING THE REFURBISHING PROCESS?
All machines will be extensively data wiped before being distributed. Feel free to delete your own data prior to donation. Remember to turn off any passwords on the machine.

WHAT ARE THE TAX BENEFITS FOR DONATIONS?
For individuals, the charitable deduction for contributions of technology equals the fair market value (retail used value in the current market place) of the donated property. For Corporate donors, tax deductions are usually limited to the amount of the donor's tax basis in the property contributed (Exceptions may apply, consult your tax advisor).
